Want to write a fairy tale? See photos of the world’s most beautiful libraries? Donate books to soldiers? Listen to Billy Collins teach you how to read a poem aloud? Download a free audio book? Or volunteer to record one?
Our blog’s share button took me to StumbleUpon! and it is Some Bit Of Stuff. It’s a browsing tool that finds and recommends web content. It lets you discover and rate web pages, photos, and videos that you personalize to your tastes and interests.
You can rate a site by giving it a

on the toolbar and leave a comment on the site’s review page.
When you stumble, you will only see pages that like-minded stumblers
recommend. With nearly 500 topics to choose from, it’s so not meat-and-potatoes. It’s an opulently garnished feast, a surfer’s heaven of content you probably wouldn’t find using a search engine.

The site stumbled out of a bedroom in Canada. Co-founder and Chief Architect of SU, Garrett Camp, registered StumbleUpon.com in 2001. Today it has over a million users, many of them over the age of thirty-five. Kind of an amped-up browser for Boomers. The bossy kind.
……..
I set my preferences to include writing, reading, literature, and poetry.
Here’s what I stumbled upon today ~
……..
Persimmon Tree, an online magazine, is a showcase for the creativity and talent of women over sixty. Too often older women’s artistic work is ignored or disregarded, and only those few who are already established receive the attention they deserve. Yet many women are at the height of their creative abilities in their later decades and have a great deal to contribute.Persimmon Tree is committed to bringing this wealth of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art to a broader audience, for the benefit of all.

8tracks is free handcrafted internet radio. It’s a simple way to share and discover music through an online mix, a short playlist containing at least 8 tracks. You can search for a mix by artist or genre, stream it in a legal radio-style manner, and follow others who make compelling mixes.
………
Planet eBook is the home of free classic literature. All novels and books are free to download and share.
…….
Oh, and then I stumbled on this……it’s a teacher thing~ I could not not read it.

….
………..
Anyway, I downloaded Jane Eyre from Planet eBooks and found this lush classical mix on 8tracks for my Charlotte Brontë afternoon. Have a listen.

I bet you’ll love the serendipity of SU. Give it a whirl, er, stumble.
